For Pete's Sake ~ Natural Nutrition for Pets ~ About Us

Vicki Bidle-Kelly started For Pete's Sake, Natural Nutrition for Pets, in 2002, on her farm in Middletown, Maryland.

Several years ago, someone commented on how old one of her dogs looked. At the time, the dog was only seven, but her face was completely gray, making her appear about twelve. Vicki had recently read of a similar case in the book, The Nature of Animal Healing, by Dr. Martin Goldstein; so she began investigating, researching the ingredients of commercial dog food, over-vaccination of companion animals, and the complications that could arise from it. After changing her dog's diet, the gray in her muzzle was gone, her skin and coat improved, and she no longer looked old.

"I really just fell into the business," says Vicki, "I was driving to Leesburg for horse food and started buying my dog food there as well."

Soon, Vicki was placing orders for her friend's pets. It was at this time that she made the decision to have food delivered directly to her home, and Natural Nutrition for Pets became a reality. Later, the name was amended to reflect the arrival of Pete (the family pet & boss), the name was changed to For Pete's Sake, Natural Nutrition for Pets.

Vicki's mission is to improve the overall health and well-being of companion animals. This process starts with educating customers about the ingredients and processes involved in manufacturing commercial pet food, and their effects. She remains dedicated to staying informed in order to share information with customers, and to provide information and seminars on topics such as nutrition, Reiki, and other holistic treatments.

Health Care Products For People

For Pete's Sake also carries health care products and supplements for humans, too. We take the same care in choosing these products as we do for your companion animals. Only the products from companies using the highest quality ingredients while showing concern for all life forms, animals, humans, and the planet, will be in our store.

A storefront in town would allow for more exposure, but the farm is beautiful, and a relaxing ride in the country for those who like to make it.
